We encounter a great variety and number of ship images in the coastal towns of the Baltic Sea. As classic ship portraits as well as dioramas (half models) or votive ships in churches. But they are also very popular as illustrations on crockery and as maritime event pictures.

In the homes and parlors of former sailors, ship images, models and souvenirs of all kinds formed an ensemble that would captivate visitors. In our current special exhibition, we want to explore this fascination with you.
