This motif plate was created on the occasion of the visit of the sailing training ship "GREIF ex WILHELM PIECK" to Leer (East Frisia) in October 1991. The "WILHELM PIECK" became the property of the city of Greifswald in 1990 and was renamed "GREIF" in 1991. Captain Helmut Stolle (born 1942, was captain on the ship from 1973 to 2000) gave the plate as a gift in 2003 with a dedication to Horst Köbbert (1928-2014) on his 75th birthday.
