Ship model "Professor Henking" (WA/VK/6438)

Model of the training cutter "PROFESSOR HENKING". The cutter was built in Greifswald in 1951. From 1957 it was in service as a research vessel for the Warnemünde Institute of Oceanography. From 1968, it operated under the same name as a motor training ship for the Gesellschaft für Sport und Technik (GST). Sold to Denmark in 1981, the cutter served as a residential ship in Neustadt/Holstein from 1995. The original ship was 32 metres long, had a crew of seven and 16 trainees and was able to make ten knots.
