In addition to the fascination of shipping, maritime event pictures sometimes also impressively depict the dangers of shipping. In terms of craftsmanship, these can be watercolours, gouache paintings or prints (lithographs). In addition to the exact depiction of the event, there is often also a description of the event as well as an exact date and sometimes even the coordinates and bearing distances. There are several maritime event pictures in the collection of the local history museum. Eight of them are presented and briefly described below.
