This ship in a bottle is something very special, as it comes from the stage show "Die klingende Seekiste" by Warnemünde singer and entertainer Horst Köbbert (1927-2014). Accordingly, the ship in the bottle also bears the name "HORST". In Köbbert's show, the ship in a bottle symbolised the GDR state apparatus. The manuscript reads: "...How does such a large apparatus get into such a small bottle? I can tell you: Someone has to push it in and then pull the strings! But if you were to ask me now: how does a small bottle sometimes get into a large apparatus? Then I can only say: Someone has to push it in and then pull the strings."
