Ship painting of the square-rigged schooner "FÜRST BORWIN III" under full sail. Captain Johann Carl Friedrich Appelmann (1800-1859) had the painting made by the painter Andres Lind. A typical ship portrait with a side view of the ship in the centre and a smaller stern view of the same ship to the left. The blue, white and red flag of Rostock is displayed aft on the gaff. Captain Appelmann used the ship to transport fruit cargoes to St. Petersburg in Russia, the so-called "Zorenappels" (tsar apples).
